Walk for Vada Pav

Walk for Vada Pav

I fell in love with Vada Pav long before I bought vadapav.com in mid-2021. For five years, it has remained dormant while I have been thinking about how best it can be used. Last week, I got it in my head that I should use it to make Vada Pav popular throughout the world. It bugs me that everyone knows burgers and sushi and tacos but not Vada Pav. That’s about to change.

I built this site as a fusion of web2 (real world stuff) and web3 (crypto stuff) because I know both of these. I also realized that as a pure marketing site, it would not help me achieve my goal. For that, I need a community and what better way to get the web3 community involved than with a token of substance and a new protocol to rally around — EatFi

As an OG in web3, I know how important transparency is for tokens. But I want this token to succeed on its own merit. So I’ve made the main token contract immutable and burn all LP tokens as soon as they are created. I have written a detailed whitepaper and have built this site single-handedly, a labor of love. August 23, 2026 is International Vada Pav Day. At that time, you’ll get to know me. By then we’ll also know if the site is on the path to obscurity or success. Until then, let me tell you about how I fell in love with Vada Pav.

I grew up in Bombay. I went to Wilson College for high school. I took the train from Charni Road to Andheri. Then the bus from Andheri station to Chakala, and then a 15-min walk. There was a stall at Andheri station that had the best Vada Pav and the delicious aroma would hit your senses as you walked out of the station. And each time that happened it was a huge decision for me — Walk for Vada Pav – or take the bus. The bus fare and the Vada Pav cost about the same. Most days, I would enjoy the oh-so-delicious mouth-watering Vada Pav, and in the most elevated mood possible and left with no bus fare, walk 40 mins in pouring rain or scorching heat. It was definitely worth it.

You can take a boy out of Bombay, but there’s no way to take Bombay out of the boy. I am excited about my mission to make Vada Pav popular in the whole world. Join me on this journey.

Jai Maharashtra! Vada Pav for life!
